Ahmad Sheer
(b. 1978, Aleppo, Syria)
Ahmad Sheer is a Syrian visual artist based in Antwerp, Belgium. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Literature from the University of Aleppo and studied Fine Arts at Tishreen Hall of Fine Arts in Aleppo between 2003 and 2004.
After moving to Belgium in autumn 2015, he continued developing his artistic practice and completed six years of oil painting studies at Berchem Academy.
For the past several years, his work has focused on an ongoing project exploring the relationship between birds, trees, and natural landscapes. Through painting, he investigates themes of freedom, fragility, movement, and the connection between living beings and their environments.
